In Japan, swords were used traditionally as weapons and also items of presentation honoring an individual's achievements. Japanese swords and their components are typically highly decorative. The amount of work and artistry gone into the creation of the individual fittings and components is outstanding.
Here at Hartman Rare Art, we offer a variety of Japanese swords and fittings, though we concentrate mainly on the sale of tsuba.
