Satsuma Pottery is a style of pottery and decoration popularized in Japan during the Edo and Meiji Periods. Satsuma Pottery is decorated with exquisitely rendered miniature figural scenes as well as elaborate floral and geometric motifs in polychrome enamels. The decorations that appear on Satsuma Pottery are often highlighted with gilt.

Many of the artists who created and decorated Satsuma Pottery became famous for the high quality and intricacy of their work. Through our gallery, we offer pieces from a number of these makers including Kinkozan, Dozan, Shojodoh and Yabu Meizan. And please feel free to browse more .
